The Greenbelt along the Boise River offers a safe, scenic pathway with few and detours. Unfortunately, there is a significant gap on the south side of the river between 52nd Street and Remington, which forces users onto a half-mile detour through a neighborhood that includes a mix of residences and businesses, with motorized traffic and no sidewalks or pathways.
Recently, FACTS, Garden City, and Ada County worked together to secure a $1.9 million federal grant to construct a pedestrian bridge between 52nd Street and the existing Green Belt pathways on Plantation Island. We need your help raising $125,000 to match the federal grant and build the bridge.
The project aims to enhance safety, efficiency, connectivity, and travel times for users on both sides of the river. It will provide users with a safe, scenic route to and from various public facilities, including the new Park at Expo and the adjacent Soccer Stadium, as well as Hawks Stadium, the Fairgrounds, and Garden City Hall and Library.
